Croatian Pavilion 2026
I feel incredibly lucky not only to document the work of Dubravka Lošić ….Dube, as she is known by those who know her best, but also to witness the creative process behind such an important exhibition in Venice, Italy.
Photographing an artist and her work behind the scenes offers a completely different perspective. Long before the doors open and visitors arrive, there are months of preparation, countless details, creative decisions, installations, and those quiet moments of anticipation that are rarely seen.
Being there to document this contemporary art exhibition in Venice allowed me to capture not only the finished artwork, but also the journey behind it, the preparation, the people, the atmosphere, and the energy that brings an exhibition to life.
For me, this is what makes art photography and documentary photography so fascinating: being able to tell the story beyond the final image.
A little glimpse behind the scenes of a very special art exhibition in Venice, and a wonderful opportunity to document Dubravka's work and creative process.
